About Us

Social Justice Committee

The Social Justice committee focuses on initiatives that promote fair and equitable access and social rights for underrepresented and underserved people in the community.  We recognize that health equity reform goes beyond health care, and cannot be separated from the fundamental human rights that form the bedrock of a just society. The committee will study how community-led economic, civil, and social reform intersects with health care access and outcomes, and suggest programs to correct these injustices on a local and national level. The committee will engage its health care leadership and partners to bridge the gaps in equal rights, opportunity, and treatment of different groups both inside the walls of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and outside those walls, both in our local community and in our nation as a whole.
